Masters in Business Administration
The Master in Business Administration (MBA) program enhances students' abilities to fill the role that managers play in identifying business problems, evaluating information, looking at possible solutions, and ultimately choosing the best one. Imagine that the manager is the hub of a wheel. Spokes radiate from the hub of the wheel, each spoke representing a different field, like marketing, operations, finance, law, information systems, etc. The spokes provide information for the manager to evaluate and integrate into the decision-making process. The manager must determine the veracity and confidence level of the information in creating a business case for each decision, even though he or she likely did not gather the information himself or herself.
The MBA program was designed to help prepare students for the decision-making roles they will fill, introducing theories and principles that frame a variety of problems and concerns in each class. Students practice decision-making by solving a variety of problems using the most current tools and techniques.
