Online Associate Degrees

Associate Degree Programs

An associates degree is designed to prepare students (1) for a bachelors degree, by allowing them to complete general education requirements prior to transfering to a 4-year university, and (2) for entry level career positions. Associate degrees include:

Associate of Arts - This degree is typically designed for students who intended to transfer to a 4-year college or university following the completion of their degree. Students usually focus their studies in the social sciences and humanities.

Associate of Science - Like the Associate of Arts this degree is awarded to students who plan on transfering to a 4-year college or university. However, students usually focus their studies in mathematics, technology or natural sciences.

Associate of Fine Arts - This degree is awarded students in Theater, Music, and Art and is usually transferable. This degree often does not satisfy general education requirements of most 4-year colleges and universities.

Associate of Arts in Teaching - This degree allows students who transfer to any participating 4-year college or university to receive credit for approved education courses. This degree will also qualify students for Teacher's Aide career positions. This degree can be earned while pursuing a bachelor's degree.

An associates degree can be earned in just as two years (and even faster via a fast track program). An associate degree will equip students with foundational knowledge and skilled required to get started in a specific career.
